RMI Corporation Joins EEMBC Board of Directors
EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. — Feb. 26, 2008 — The Embedded Microprocessor Benchmark Consortium today announced that RMI Corporation™ (RMI®), a supplier of processor based solutions for enterprise, infrastructure and consumer applications, is the consortium’s newest member.
RMI joins EEMBC® as a member of the consortium’s board of directors, with full voting rights on all major issues decided by the consortium, plus full access to all of the EEMBC benchmarks.
“RMI’s experience in multi-core technology and networking applications will help bring to EEMBC first-hand knowledge that will be invaluable for the testing of our series of multi-core processor benchmarks and next-generation networking and telecommunications benchmarks,” said EEMBC President Markus Levy. “We are very pleased to welcome them as our 34th board member.”
“RMI produced the industry’s first multi-core multi-threaded SoC for high-performance, low-power embedded applications in 2004 and we have continued to build upon that success,” said Nazar Zaidi, vice president of engineering, RMI Corporation. “We look forward to working with the EEMBC members and drawing upon our expertise to address the challenge of creating benchmarks for multi-core/multi-threaded SoC solutions. We are also leveraging our architectural expertise for extremely low-power consumer applications and plan to actively participate in this area as well.”
