The RMI Alchemy™ Au1200™ processor leverages our commitment to low-power, high-performance solutions to give designers a highly flexible, versatile, and powerful processor for Personal Media Players (PMPs) and other mobile devices. An innovative architecture enables downloading of video at full-frame-rate speeds and delivers DVD-quality video and dynamic audio – all with no need to transcode.

The RMI Alchemy Au1200 processor enables fast, easy design of feature-rich portable media products with shortened development cycles – resulting in faster time to market and enhanced potential market penetration opportunities. System-on-a-Chip (SoC) methodology helps eliminate the need for additional components and greatly simplifies the design process.

Integral media acceleration engine

A fully integrated media acceleration engine gives the Au1200™ processor the onboard power to optimize video without the need for digital signal processor (DSP) components and other resource-consuming devices. The processor supports all digital video formats, including MPEG, DivX, and WMV9, and delivers full D1 performance, all without the need to transcode content between PC or PVR and the PMP. Consumers get efficient download times and can more easily take media “on the go.”

A complete portable digital media design solution

The RMI Alchemy™ Au1200™ processor solution includes ODM design and hardware components, third-party GUI and content management software, and RMI media player software with no licensing fee.
